Belfast Book Festival 2026: Two new films and a Poet-in-Residence

We're excited to once again be supporting the Belfast Book Festival, taking place June 4th through 11th, and their Poet-in-Residence programming!

This year's Poet-in-Residence is Belfast emerging poet Susanna Galbraith. On June 11th, Galbraith will be presenting a reading and conversation with Shannon Kuta Kelly and Matthew Rice. She'll be participating in mentoring sessions with Mícheál McCann and visiting artist Annemarie Ní Churreáin during the festival as well.

We'll also be premiering two poem films performed by Galbraith and McCann at the festival, made in collaboration with BBF and directed by Matthew Thompson.

These two films, as well as others from past festivals featuring performances by Bebe Ashley, Leontia Flynn, Emma Must, and Abby Oliveira, will be on view in the Crescent Arts Centre’s café area in a looped installation. Stop by and pick up a headset to give them a watch!
