UK Global Majority Poets on Film at the Conduit Club

On February 10th at 6pm GMT, London's Conduit Club will offer a virtuosic evening of poetry and film hosted by author and WritersMosaic director Colin Grant. The event will feature poetry performances from Anthony Anaxagorou (founder of Out-Spoken Press) and Forward Prize winner Marjorie Lotfi, as well as a screening of four short films drawn from their poems, directed by filmmakers Savannah Acquah and Rob Akin for our 2025 series co-created with WritersMosaic, UK Global Majority Poets on Film.

Following the screenings, poets and filmmakers will give behind-the-scenes insights into the construction of the films, riffing along the way on the history of poetry films and their challenges. These dazzling poetry films aim to bring innovative poetry to wider audiences, showcasing established and emerging UK poets and filmmakers.
