Éanna Hardwicke

Irish actor Éanna Hardwicke was raised in Cork and Glanmire. He began acting at age ten, appearing in youth theater programs before finding a major role in the horror movie The Eclipse at thirteen alongside Ciarán Hinds and Aidan Quinn. He later attended The Lir Academy, where he received his BA in acting in 2018, and returned to the screen the following year.

Hardwicke has appeared in the films Vivarium, About Joan, Lakelands, William Tell, and Saipan, among others, and the television series Normal People, Smother, Krypton, Fate: The Winx Saga, The Sixth Commandment, The Doll Factory, and A Very Royal Scandal. He wrote and produced the short film At Arm’s Length. His stage performances include roles in The Misfit Mythology at Cork Arts Theatre, The Mouth of the Birch with Druid Theatre Company, Attachment at the Dublin Theatre Festival, and The Cherry Orchard at the Donmar Warehouse. He also narrated the audiobook of Sally Rooney’s novel Intermezzo.

Hardwicke is a three-time Irish Film & Television Awards nominee and was named Best Supporting Actor in a Drama for his role as Cian Reilly in Lakelands. He won the Bingham Ray New Talent Award at Galway Film Fleadh, also for Lakelands, and an award for Male Supporting Actor at the Royal Television Society Programme Award for his work in The Sixth Commandment. He was nominated for a BAFTA for the same role. Hardwicke was named a 2024 European Shooting Star at the Berlin International Film Festival and a Screen International Rising Star in the magazine’s first Irish edition.
