Biography
Edward Rowe
Actor Edward Rowe grew up in Roche, a clay mining town in Cornwall. He studied English and drama at Swansea University, then continued his theater studies at London Academy of Performing Arts. He found success as a comedian via standup and YouTube videos featuring his Cornish character, Kernow King. He appeared on stage for the standup tour Splann! and in the plays Hireth and Trevithick!.
Rowe’s breakthrough role was as the lead in Bait, a critically acclaimed 2019 film directed by Mark Jenkin that shines a light on the social issues of contemporary Cornwall. He was longlisted for both Best Actor and Most Promising Newcomer at the British Independent Film Awards. Since then, he has appeared in the television shows House of the Dragon, The Witcher, Strike, Alex Rider, Beyond Paradise, and Shakespeare & Hathaway: Private Investigators and the films Rose of Nevada, Age of Summer, and Enys Men. He was also a voice actor in the video game Elden Ring.
Rowe wrote and directed the shorts Mab Hudel and the forthcoming Clay Pit. He is a bard of Gorsedh Kernow.
